On March 19, 2026, we were honored to receive the “Special Award” at the Partner Companies’ Operational Improvement Case Studies and Proposals Contest held at the headquarters of Obayashi Corporation.
This annual contest recognizes outstanding examples of operational improvement and aims to advance civil engineering technologies—including planning, design, construction, environmental conservation, maintenance, and human resource development. Through these efforts, it seeks to create high-quality civil engineering assets and strengthen the business foundations of both Obayashi Corporation and its partner companies.
Our award-winning entry, titled “Steel Member Installation Using a Balancer (a Lifting Jig Equipped with a Mobile Adjustment Weight),” addressed challenges in work environments where overhead obstacles prevent the direct use of cranes. We developed a new lifting jig that allows the lifting center to be adjusted using a movable weight, enabling safe and efficient crane-assisted installation even in restricted spaces.
