Simultaneous work at three major project sites

Projects Details

In this project, we performed work at three large thermal power plant construction projects simultaneously. For this, we carried out unloading from ships and transportation of large cargo/equipment via self-propelled modular transporters and the largest crawler cranes available in Japan at the time, and also carried out the move-in and loading onto bases of large turbine generator equipment using a variety of our own equipment.
We also had to work on these three projects all at once as an early power security measure for the region. We struggled to find the heavy haulage and heavy lifting engineers required but were able to clear all hurdles and complete the project on time with simultaneous work by concentrating human resources with transportation and move-in skills relating to thermal power plant equipment into the project area from other regions, founding the new "Consolidated Thermal Power Plant Construction Office" in the process.

Key Project Details and Requirements

1. Arranged large equipment for each project, then ensured loading, unloading, and transport operations were carried out

We had to find vehicles and equipment to unload and transport large equipment at all three work sites. Heavy equipment such as 1,350-ton capacity crawler cranes and self-propelled modular transporters had to be kept at each work site, and transportation was performed on time using a variety of corporate resources, including 700-ton capacity spreader beams.

2. Move-in and the loading of equipment onto bases performed simultaneously, according to precise plans

We use a lot of equipment and tools for the move-in and the loading onto bases of large turbine generator equipment, such as power jack systems and stage jacks (large hydraulic unit jacks), among other unique devices. We used a detailed construction plan as a basis for simultaneous work at all three sites, and adjusted equipment and personnel allocation plans across sites with extreme precision. This eliminated personnel shortages or overages while keeping all sites on schedule and resulted in the successful completion of work on all three projects on schedule.
