Projects Details
In this project, we carried out large heat exchanger (FX-E1) replacement work involving removal and installation at the Sakai Refinery of Cosmo Oil Co., LTD. We set up a large crawler crane in a cramped area of the premises, removed the old FX-E1, and installed the new one. We used 3D-CAD to plan the location of the crawler crane installation and the removal of obstacles, successfully completing a highly difficult job in a very limited space.
Key Project Details and Requirements
1. Assembling a 500-ton capacity crawler crane in a tight space on an incline
The location for crawler crane setup in this project was extremely tight, and also uneven and sloped. The site was filled to eliminate unevenness and reinforced with steel plates and steel mats. Crane positioning for assembly and assembly procedures were considered carefully, and work was completed without issues, primarily using a 500-ton capacity crawler crane with a 36-meter boom and 30-meter luffing boom.
2. Precise plans via 3D-CAD
Detailed studies were carried out using 3D-CAD for ground reinforcement at the crane installation location and for interferences during crane assembly, as well as during removal and installation of the heat exchanger.
A. Work area ground reinforcement
B. 500-ton capacity crawler crane assembly
C. Large heat exchanger removal
D. Large heat exchanger installation
