ServiceTransformer Equipment

As a heavy haulage industry leader, we offer optimized transportation using our proprietary vehicles and cargo carriers.

The electricity produced at power plants passes through several transformers on its way to homes and businesses. Transformers change its frequency and voltage, distribute or interrupt power flow, and otherwise fill a role as critical infrastructure for stable power supplies.
We use our fleet of vehicles and cargo carriers (developed through proprietary research) in combination with a wide range of transporting methods to transport large transformers anywhere in Japan. Going forward, we aim to continue supporting social infrastructure through our transporting operations for transformer equipment within Japan.

Properties

1. Shipping via company-owned cargo rail cars

Our company-owned rail transporting cars ("shiki cars") make us the only company in Japan that can offer mixed proposals for rail and road transporting of large transformers in excess of 100 tons in size. We use rail to transport over the shortest terrestrial route available, reducing the burden on both roads and bridges, as well as on the environment.

2. Remaining the top of the line through skills transfer and development

The ancient way of moving heavy cargo was to use rollers, and this method is still used today. We have also developed the "sliding method" as a modern substitute for rollers in the installation of outsize transformer equipment that can't be moved with a crane. In it, we use a hydraulic lift to reduce workers and shorten work. We maintain our leadership status in the heavy lifting industry by never letting competitors get ahead in our drive to pass on traditional techniques while simultaneously developing new approaches.

3. The technology to allow for transport over standard roads

Careful investigation and planning of shipping routes is required when transporting large transformers. Sometimes, crossing a bridge or not can be a major decision. When a bridge isn't strong enough, we negotiate with public authorities and build a temporary overpass with our "over-bridge" method or add substructural reinforcements below the bridge to resolve the situation.
We use our extensive experience and insight to offer you a safe, optimized transporting method.

Example Equipment Usage

Type 100 Trailers
Type 100 Trailers
A trailer developed jointly with NX Shoji for transporting 100-ton transformers. Its chassis is as light as possible to reduce the burden on bridges and roads, allowing for long-range shipping.
Type 240 Trailers
Type 240 Trailers
We are the sole owners and operators of this trailer type, which is capable of transporting transformers up to a maximum of 240 tons (necessary loading equipment included). It boasts the highest load capacity of any means of transporting transformers in Japan.
